Two friends from Mossley are hoping to spread some cheer across Greater Manchester with their new business venture.

Jess McGlynn and Stella Greathead are creating crafted goody boxes containing candles, chocolates, pamper gifts and more – under their “Feels Good” brand.

The idea grew out of lockdown frustration.

“The restaurant I worked at had to close due to Covid restrictions.” says Jess, 27. “I was feeling a little down about not working and being isolated from friends and colleagues.  My friend sent me a goody box, and it really cheered me up”.

“We started sending each other little gifts and it felt good receiving them as well as knowing we were all still thinking of each other through these tough times.”

Jess has extensive experience in the hospitality sector and is currently furloughed from her role as general manager at Mowgli restaurant in Manchester.  Stella had been made redundant, as her role as an events manager could no longer be sustained during the pandemic.  The two met through their work.

With expertise in food, hospitality and creative design, the pair delivered their first Covid Survival box at the beginning of February and their wide range of gifts has expanded quickly.

“We now have a team package for employees who want to show their appreciation for colleagues working from home, and recently we have created a Mother’s Day box”.

Boxes start from £9.95 and range up to £15.00, with free delivery across Greater Manchester and feature “The Reset Bundle” which contains pamper goods; a “Pearl Box” containing a Pink G&T set; and a “Bee Kind Hamper” which is packed with honey based products.

The duo are sourcing items from online and local shops and are looking to work closely with local businesses who would like to showcase their items in the gift boxes.

Stella, 25, says they’re keen to expand the range: “We are looking at creating a ‘Luxury’ range which will be a little more expensive, but we have carried out a lot of research to make all of our ranges fun and affordable”.

“Our aim is to deliver bespoke bundles to you and yours that keep you smiling”.

The entrepreneurs hope to set up some virtual pamper nights and cocktail masterclasses, to help develop their brand further.
