Credible Media and Live & Now to support TEDx event streamed from Oldham

CREDIBLE Media, owner of Revolution 96.2, the Oldham Chronicle and Oldham Business Edge magazine, is supporting a TEDx event at Oldham Library hosted by Oldham’s Live & Now.

Called TEDxOldham, the event is being held on July 19 and will be broadcast live from Oldham Library. More details are due soon on the speakers who will talk about ‘Idea Worth
Spreading’. Organisers say the theme comes from an Anne Frank quote of:

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”

The aim is to make this an inclusive event with over 50 organisations and venues including schools, libraries, businesses and event-centres hosting a live-streaming of different events
and workshops throughout the day.

More information about where you can watch the TEDxOldham event, how to host your own TEDxOldham party and pre-application for tickets can be found at www.TEDxOldham.com

The event is licensed and produced by Live & Now and hosted by Oldham Libraries.

Matt Ramsbottom, of Credible Media, pictured on the left with Paul Sweeting of Live&Now, said: “We’ve had a keen interest in TED events for some time and are very excited about helping to get as many people as possible across the whole of Oldham and Greater Manchester to be involved and inspired by TEDxOldham. We have agreed to be the media partner for the event across all our platforms including Revolution 96.2, Oldham Chronicle and Oldham Business Edge.”

TED is a non-profit organization devoted to ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. Many of the talks are given at TED’s annual conference in Vancouver, and made available, free, on TED.com. Past speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Sir Richard Branson and Stephen Hawking and many more.

TED’s initiatives for spreading ideas include TED.com, where new talk videos are posted daily; the TED Translators Program, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as
well as translations from thousands of volunteers worldwide.

TEDx provides licenses to thousands of individuals and groups who host local, self-organised TED-style events and the TED Fellows program, which selects innovators to amplify the impact of their projects and activities.
