Professional Oldham to resume networking events

Oldham’s business networking group is to resume face-to-face meetings following a pause during the Covid pandemic.

Porofessional Oldham is a chance for the local business community to undwind after work, chat and network, as well as having fun in a relaxed, informal setting.

The business networking group is hosting its first post-pandemic event on Thursday 18th November.

The group are keen to showcase the best sites Oldham has to offer by picking interesting spaces for meetings, with the next event taking place at Maggie’s – a unique and amazing space at the heart of the community.

Glenn Drake-Owen of Breakey & Nuttall is one of the Professional Oldham committee members. He told the Chronicle: “We are so delighted to be getting back to business as normal. The event at Maggie’s promises to be a great night and I hope the business community come out on force.

“Professional Oldham is simply a chance to get out and about again as a business community and hopefully make some useful contacts.

“Drinks and food are served and attendees will get the chance to tour this amazing building. I see buildings every day and was completely blown away by my first visit to Maggie’s, it truly is unique for Oldham”

Built in 2017 Maggie’s is the world’s first engineered hardwood building and is clad in tulipwood with an interior that is just as innovative.

Designed by Alex de Rijke of dRMM, the Oldham centre is a one-storey building supported over its garden by steel legs. The structure is clad in corrugated, thermally treated tulipwood, and with the same wood worked into cross laminated timber to create the main load-bearing structure.
